PAWC Water Main Break between Sunset and Potshop

At 10 in the morning on Election day, my neighbors and I discovered that we had no water. So I went on the Pennsylvania American Water Company’s web site to check out their alerts: http://www.amwater.com/awpr1/paaw/newsr ... e7613.html
There were three water main breaks listed in PA, but none in East Norriton. I called PAWC customer service and after waiting several minutes, I was told that their computer was down so they had no information about water service. In no way could they help me. I decided to go vote knowing that I would see two of our township supervisors working at the polls. Lo and behold on the way to Paul Fly I passed these men from PAWC digging a hole so they could fix a broken water main.

If you look carefully into the hole you can see the water that has flowed out from the water main.

The gentlemen from the Water company had to shut off the water to the houses on Embassy Circle. They hoped to have it fixed by noon. The water main was fixed and opened again at 11:30 A.M. The hole is still there.

When I arrived at the poll I told Supervisors Don Gracia and Kandy Heckman that some of their constituents were without water again. Mr Gracia called our Township Manager Helmuth Baerwald to see what he knew. Unaware of the situation Mr. Baerwald called PAWC and was told the pipe only broke at one place on Embassy Circle. I hope the pipe doesn’t fall apart somewhere else, especially after we repave our roads when the sewer laterals are finished next Spring. Meanwhile we had all better stock a few extra gallons of water – just in case.

I hope your township supervisors were not also your Judge of Elections or Inspectors.
Sorry about you water troubles. I hope they are resolved soon.
