The EN mandated sewer repair project is nearing completion. In the Area between Sunset and Potshop Rd, 166 households have completed their sewer lateral repairs using the township contractors. 37 households used private contractors for their lateral repairs. Nine residents did not make the required repairs, but one said they would do so in the near future. That leaves eight resident for which the township will contract repairs and place a lien on the property for the cost. Along White Hall road 32 household have used the township contractor and 2 used private contractors for sewer lateral repairs. Two other households along White Hall said they will complete their repairs soon. The township will then begin to resurface the roads torn up by the laterals. Fortunately I have been able to handle the lateral road bumps on my hybrid bike. Looks like we will all have a smoother ride in the Fall if all goes as planned.
I would like to find out from the township how the sewer repairs have affected the volume of water at the pump station after heavy rains. At the township meeting this week there was mention of townhouses being built on the open land between Paul Fly and Germantown Pike. Once they are hooked up that will add to the load handled by our sewer system. Even with all this repair, there was also discussion at the meeting of constructing an 80,000 gallon storage tank at the Germantown Pike pump station. The township is also in conversation with the Einstein Hospital developers about a sewer improvement project.
